Going on a 18 hour plane flight soon and I can’t fall asleep on my own on a plane so I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a good over the counter sleep aid. Also wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for things to do to pass the time on a long plane flight (besides reading a book or bringing some sort of hand held game). Thanks
Unisom! You can find them at any CVS/Walgreen’s or grocery store. I think they work the best especially if you haven’t taken them before.

It’s not a good idea to day sleep aids while flying. (what happens if there’s an emergency and they can’t wake you).
As your doctor for a light sedative.

I never had any luck with OTC drugs. Go to your doctor tell him you are going on a long international trip and want Rx level sleep aids. They work MUCH better. And you can use them when you are there to help with the first night or so of sleep. And use them on the way back. I did that and they gave me a 10 pill Rx, they lasted for two trips. It’s a little more pricey but trust me it’s worth it.
