Can a sleep apnea patient take over the counter sleep aids?

I don't see why not if you're using CPAP. I would be cautious if I were not on CPAP or BI-PAP.

Anyone can take these. It may just make your sleep apnea worse because you are sleeping more soundly due to the drugs.

Hi David. I don't think I would take any sleep aid without checking with your doctor. Please play it safe. Things are screwed up enough without adding a downer to your body.
