What are the best sleep aids? prescribed or over the counter?

I’ve been having trouble falling asleep but never chose to do anything about it. I wanted to know if Ambien or Lunesta is the way to go. I hear these drugs might have some serious side effects. If anyone knows the best one to take with the least side effects that would be great. Also if anyone knows of any otc sleep aids..Ive tried nyquil a couple times and seemed to work only some of the time.

I personally like ambien. I fee fine the next day and I sleep like a baby. I have bad insomnia and this is what works for me. They say it can be addictive but i haven’t had any problems myself. I only take it like once a week or maybe two.

I take benadryl to fall asleep. Sounds crazy eh? Works like a charm. I’ve been on lunesta and also ambien before but at least on benadryl I wake up if I need to for the kids, etc.
