Anxiety is affecting my sleep like crazy, I may have got two nights of good sleep in the past week but I slept for like 12 hours to catch up, what are some good meds for this problem? Other than stress relievers and alcohol?

first, you have to be tired when u lay down each night. By this I mean, same time each night go to
sleep. wind down.you can’t fool mother nature.Believe me I know.
I also take one tylenol arthritic aspirn (650 mg) and I fall to sleep for 6-7 hrs minimum, but when I wake up, I’m out of there and ready to go..also during the day, if I feel a little sleepy, I try to pull over for a 5-10
minute nap. One nap a day please..

no over the sleep aid is that great, but if I had to pick one I’d say the ingredient in Tylenol PM which is just pain Benadryl. You can try 25 mg of it at bedtime to see if it helps. You may need an anti anxiety med to take at bedtime like Clonazepam or Xanax (prescription only ). Good luck.

For anxiety maybe try some Valerian Root. I picked up some in capsule form at my local drugstore and it definitely helps me to stay balanced. It’s said that it helps with sleep problems but I haven’t felt tired taking them during the day. There’s also chamomile, kava kava extract, st. john’s wort and probably a hundred other natural sleep and anxiety remedies. Do your research and talk to your doc. For sleep problems I take melatonin. Actually a naturally occurring chemical in your body and isn’t addictive. Hope this helps.

I agree with Leslie. Valerian Root is great is is St. John’s Wort for anxiety. Valerian Root also helps me to sleep well along with Melatonin. Chamomile is great with teas is just a great way to relax after a stressful day. Much better for you then a few mixed drinks or a six pack which seems to be a common ‘over the counter’ anti-anxiety treatment.
